Animal Facts – Fossil records show that the Bat Eared Fox has been around for 750 000 years. Their large ears enable them to detect movement of a beetle larvae up to 30cm underground. These extra large ears are also used for thermoregulation, similar to elephants. They have +- 50 sharp teeth in their mouth, more than most other land mammals and their jaws have a special muscle structure that enables them to chew 5 times a second. Which helps them quickly mash up their favourite food, termites.
